MODEL MAKING
Models are used to present concepts and ideas in a conceivable form. It can help to understand a vision more clearly and save resources, time and money by building something in a scaled own version before committing to the actual project.
Today I built a model of my room.
First out of paper, in a 1:10 scale.
After building this model, I realised the scale was far too big and the paper was too flimsy to model from.
I then rebuilt the model, altering the scale to 1:20 and using card instead of paper.
The model turned out to be much sturdier and a better size to handle.
The next model I made was out of corrugated cardboard. I decided to stick with the 1:20 scale as it was a good size. The cardboard proved to be sturdy enough to work with, but rigid enough to bend and mould. I enjoyed working with this material the most, and made my ideal space.

I then made another iterative model identical to the one above but this time out of thin white card at a smaller scale of 1:50. This was much harder to do as the model was finicky because of its size.
